  • South Rim Information:

When parking your vehicle at Lee's Ferry...please fill your vehicle with fuel. If you have your vehicle full of gas when we pick it up, we will not need to fuel vehicle en-route to the South Rim.
The vehicle parking location used at the South Rim is parking lot D/E by the backcountry office. If you want your vehicle parked elsewhere, then please let us know this on your transportation form or by calling us.
When we shuttle your vehicle, it may be shuttled on the day of your take out. This is all part of the scheduling. We try to coordinate trips that are putting in and taking out during this time frame. The vehicle will be there anywhere from 12 noon to 3 pm... if the vehicle is not there when you arrive please be patient, it is on it's way. Most of the time though we are able to shuttle the vehicle before your take out date.
For those of you who want vehicles shuttled from the South Rim to Peach Springs, your vehicles may be left at the South Rim until a few days before your take out at Diamond Creek. This is due to the request of the managment of the Hualapai Lodge. They will only allow you to leave your vehicle in their parking lot for only 3-4 days.

  • Diamond Creek take out information:

The Diamond Creek take out is a small dirt take out and on any given day, especially during the summer season, there can be crowds of people who are taking out either on private trips or commercial trips, along with many large trucks, busses, etc., that are blocking the ramp area. The Hualapai operations are also going on from anywhere between the hours of 7am to 10am. The Hualapai do ask that you limit your activities at the Diamond Creek ramp until after their operations end around 10am.

Diamond Creek is not the most convenient place to take out. Along with the crowds, increasing Indian fees, rough roads, flash flooding, etc., Pearce Ferry, in my opinion, is the place to take out.

  • Pearce Ferry take out information:

For those of you who want to experience the rest of the canyon, then Pearce Ferry is the place to take out.  The lower canyon offers much to see - if you have not done it, then you are missing out on the last stretch of the lower gorge - and it is worth seeing!!

There are concerns, for some groups, that there is not enough time to take out at Pearce Ferry.  In some cases it may be true, but most of the time it can be done in an extra day.  The river current runs well past the new Pearce Ferry take out.  No flat water to row across.
This certainly is the much cheaper route, as you are not having to pay the Indian fees for taking out at Diamond Creek...which can range upwards of $1000 or more for a group.

When you take out at Pearce Ferry or use our Diamond Creek Package, you are dealing with only one party for your shuttle.  From the beginning to the end, River Runner's Shuttle Service will be the only party shuttling your vehicle.

I hope you find this information helpful when deciding on where your trip will be taking out.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

    Thank you.
